About The Chai-Tikvah Foundation
The Chai-Tikvah Foundation staff provides 24-hour supportive housing in a Jewish environment for adults with mental health problems. Staff members assist resident clients to build self-esteem, manage stress, improve social interaction, and improve practical skills such as cooking, money management, household cleaning, decision-making, goal setting, and the use of medication.
Members plan and participate in house meetings and outings, and attend individual programmes outside the house. The Jerry Turk Fellowship Home observers kosher food laws. The Sabbath is observed, and the Jewish festivals are celebrated. The house rooms are shared.
Resident attendance at house meetings is required. Optional house activities include day trips and social club outings.
Chai-Tikvah also provides weekly counselling to individuals in their apartments.
